In Bay Area there are free film and media literacy workshops offered exclusively to youth groups (ages 13-24). The purpose of these workshops is to further media education and film appreciation through the non-profit Ninth Street Independent Film Center organizations. These established media arts groups have each been around for 30 years or more. They offer such a valuable service at no cost because they realize that future success depends on youth who are knowledgeable, informed and enriched through multiple literacies.
